Dextrin is very suitable as a binder for sand moulds used in the foundry industry. It has very good binding and plasticising qualities. Dextrin is also part of bentonite mixtures for foundry moulds. Dextrin is used in pattern departments for glueing wooden models for forming sand mixtures or in the production of pointing, coating and repairing materials for sand moulds and cores.
