Food industry

Starch is used as a thickener, bulking agent, fat replacement, flavour carrier, emulsifier and generally as an ingredient that binds water. It is used in the production of condiments (mayonnaise, dressings), ketchup and tomato sauces, jams and marmalades, instant mixes (sauces, soups, fillings, creams) and in healthy food products (like extruded products).

In the dairy industry it is used for the production of sour creams, spreads, yoghurts, sauces, cream cheeses, puddings and processed cheeses. It is also widely used in the meat industry during production of finely minced products, ham products, smoked meats and battered products.
